Eastleigh MP Mims Davies has visited the Salvation Army Church and Community Centre in Hedge End to find out about local initiatives the organisation runs.
The centre, in White's Way, is the base for a pre-school, youth groups, dance classes, a craft club as well as a CAB clinic twice a week and Mims met with staff, users and volunteers during a tour of the facilities, which included the café, run by volunteers, that is open to the public.
“This centre only opened around two and half years ago and it’s already part of the local community and it’ a great hub for so many organisations that exist predominately through the work of volunteers,” said Mims.
“Many thanks to Major Ian Davis and Major Louise Davis from the Salvation Army who allowed me to see first-hand how they support those in need within our community and I am humbled by their dedication to the work they do.
“The Salvation Army provide so many lifelines to those vulnerable members of the community with passion, vigour and unwavering faith.”
