Eastleigh MP and Minister at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Mims Davies, has urged her constituents to boost their broadband this Christmas.
The move follows a campaign launched by regulator Ofcom encouraging millions of broadband customers to check what services are available in their area and to prevent consumers from missing out on faster broadband or a cheaper package than the one they currently have.
Commenting, Eastleigh MP Mims Davies said:
‘As we head into the Christmas period many of us will be using broadband to do our last minute online Christmas shopping, to download a Christmas movie or to listen to some Christmas tunes, and I dare say that many will be wishing we had faster broadband.
“Nevertheless, few of us realise that we could be getting more for less by simply speaking to our provider about the deals on offer, and I therefore really welcome this campaign, making it easier than ever to check our current package and find out how to boost our broadband. All it takes is three simple steps!’
A dedicated website (www.BoostYourBroadband.com) will offer consumers tools including availability checker, information on what they need to ask their provider, and a jargon buster.
