The Chancellor has promised to create 140,000 jobs in the south and plough £2.4 billion into the South Coast’s transport system. He pledged 120,000 new jobs would be created in the South East and that the region would also have 200,000 apprenticeships, 30 hours of free childcare a week and 76,000 new primary school places. He also announced the Conservatives would continue to provide funding in the South where there would be investment in transport improvements and the growth in businesses in the region. He promised to invest £350 million in local roads across the South East seeing the creation of new job opportunities.
George Osborne said, “Our plan for the working people of the South Coast is clear, specific and ambitious. It is a long term economic plan with a timetable for delivery, each year bringing new investment and new jobs.”
Mims Davies commented, “It is clear that under a Conservative led Government the region would receive investment to create new jobs and the much needed improvements to our South Coast’s transport system which will deal with pollution and congestion that has been affecting the community in Eastleigh Constituency.
“If you vote for me Eastleigh will have a voice in the new South Coast plan under the Conservatives where funding will help improve the Chickenhall Link Road and Botley bypass and provide a much needed Junction 6 of the M27 into all-ways junction to cut congestion. This programme will turn the M27 into a smart motorway.
“If elected as your MP for Eastleigh, I will be fighting for further improvements particularly for the Hamble Lane.
