Eastleigh MP Mims Davies is urging residents who own drones to take care.
The move comes after concerns from airports such as Southampton Airport that drones can be dangerous if not flown correctly.
“As we approach Christmas some people will be excited to get a new drone as a present. it is important to remember that they can be a dangerous nuisance if not treated with care” said Mims.
“Drone owners need to respect other people’s privacy and make sure that they are not flying them anywhere near an airport”
David Lees, Managing Director of Southampton Airport, joined Mims and said
“We know that a lot of people will be receiving drones for Christmas this year and we urge all users to follow the CAA Code of Conduct and enjoy their drones well away from Southampton Airport and the airspace around it.”
