The Member of Parliament for Eastleigh, Mims Davies, has been promoting Earth Hour, the world’s largest annual event to protect the planet, and joined a movement to safeguard nature and set it on the path to recovery.
Eastleigh’s MP, Mims Davies, who has previously worked alongside colleagues at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and helped to deliver a ban on both Ivory and on Microbeads, made a pledge for the environment on behalf of her Eastleigh constituents; joining over 100 MPs who showed their support for Earth Hour in Parliament this week, ahead of the global lights out event on Saturday 30th March at 8:30pm.
Commenting, the Member of Parliament for Eastleigh, Mims Davies said:
“The environment is one of the biggest issues raised with me by people across the Eastleigh constituency, regularly filling my inbox an postbag, and the lights out event that the WWF are organising for this Saturday (30th March) is a great way for people of all ages to demonstrate their support for our shared environment and draw attention to a vitally important issue.
“I hope that by adding my voice, and the voice of my Eastleigh constituents, I can encourage people everywhere to take part on Saturday! Who wouldn’t be intrigued to know why the Eiffel Tower and the Sydney Opera House are switching their lights off at the same time?”
