The Chancellor George Osborne visited GE Aviation Systems in Hamble where he met the Executive Team. George Osborne said “The Conservative Government have put funding into aviation and that the future of aviation in Hamble-Le-Rice would be ongoing providing components for aircraft across the country. The company initiated the production of the wing fixed trailing edge package for Airbus A350-1000 jetliner which has boosted jobs in the industry.”
Mims Davies commented “We have seen the largest design and manufacture contract awarded in the 78-year history of this GE Aviation Aerostructures business which has marked a new milestone. This shows that a Conservative led government are and will continue to be committed to seeing jobs being created and companies thriving in Eastleigh Constituency.”
