Following the news that a further £388 million being provided to support for care workers and care home residents, to prevent the spread of infection this winter, the Government have announced the establishing of 40 new Community Diagnostic Centres, including one near the Amex Stadium.
These will provide a a one-stop-shop for key testing to boost early diagnoses, and speed up and increase referrals.
The Centres will provide a full range of scans and tests to patients to catch illnesses at the earliest signs–increasing NHS capacity and saving lives as we tackle the historic elective backlog caused by the pandemic.This builds on the £5.4 billion announced in September 2021to tackle the backlog over the next six months.
The new centre by the Amex Stadium will begin providing services over the next six months, with all40centres set to be fully operational by March 2022.
The centre will provide services closer to home for people in Mid Sussex to meet rising demand, as part of the Conservative Government’s plan to tackle the NHS backlog and catch health issues quickly
