As a consultation over the future of Southampton Airport draws towards its final two weeks, the local Member of Parliament, Mims Davies, has urged her constituents to make sure that they have had their say.
Southampton Airports draft Master Plan sets out the vision and potential growth path for the airport over the next 20 years, including plans for a starter extension to the runway, increased operations for larger jet aircraft and development of passenger facilities across the airport site.
Commenting, local MP Mims Davies said:
“The future of Southampton Airport’s Master Plan will shape our area for decades to come. I know that while the majority of my constituents recognise the benefits that have been set out, they also have concerns that they would like to be addressed.
“It is therefore really important that any concerns are submitted through the consultation process, so that they can be properly considered, particularly surrounding local air quality which I know is of particular concern for people living nearby to the airport.”
The consultation over Southampton Airport’s Master Plan was launched on the 19th September and is running for 6 weeks, ending on Tuesday 30th October 2018.
Ends.
