This week Eastleigh MP, Mims Davies met with representatives from Electrical Safety First to learn about staying safe during the festive season.
The event held in Parliament hosted by Derek Thomas MP aimed to give MP’s first-hand guidance on understanding the electrical hazards facing people in their homes during the festive period and how to reduce these risks in the long-term.
Commenting, Eastleigh MP Mims Davies said:
‘During the festive season so many people in our area rely on electric to decorate their homes, cook for their families and enjoy electrical gadgets, but it’s often easy to forget how to put your safety first.’
‘That’s why it was great to meet with representatives from Electrical Safety First this week to discuss how to prevent electrical hazards from occurring during the festive period and what to do to reduce these risks in the long term.’
‘We are lucky that our area is fabulously decorated over the festive period but Christmas lights remain the most common electrical hazard. It’s important that my constituents know the precautions so we can enjoy the festive break safely.’
