Eastleigh MP and recently appointed Minister for Loneliness, Mims Davies, is looking forward to hosting her first Seniors’ Fair this coming Thursday (8th November) from 11am to 2pm at Fleming Park Bowling Club. The event – which is free to attend and requires no pre-registration – aims to provide a wealth of information to local people whether they are still working, a carer, want to find a part time volunteering opportunity or are enjoying maturing and want to hear more about new activities that are going on locally.
Thirty local service providers from the public, private and voluntary sectors will be present to offer practical help, including One Community, the local WI and the Hampshire Constabulary.
Ahead of Thursday’s event, Eastleigh MP Mims Davies said:
“I am really looking forward to hosting this, my first ‘Seniors Fair’, this Thursday! Having this week taken on the role of Minister for Loneliness, and having myself cared for relatives, I know how important it is that our more senior citizens are able to access clear and practical advice from a range of expert service providers.
“That’s why I am putting on this event, all under one roof – it really is a one- stop place to access information. People can find out about how to stay safe, keep warm, continue working and manage their money as well as finding out about a whole host of leisure activities available in our community!
“News about the event has spread so much that we’ve had service providers asking to be involved which is fantastic news for the community, and I hope to see many new and familiar faces at Fleming Park Bowling Club on Thursday."
