Mims has urged local people to make their feelings known on Eastleigh Borough Council’s Local Plan consultation with just one day left to make a submission.
The council has refused to extend the eight-week consultation by a fortnight despite Mims arguing that its launch on 23rd December meant two weeks were lost because of the festive period.
Mims has already criticised the plan saying the initial proposals are poor quality and will do little to protect residents from hostile and damaging developments.
“Everyone now has just one day to make their thoughts known on this consultation, so I urge people to ensure they make the deadline.
“It’s a great shame the council has refused to extend the time to receive submissions because this is a vitally important document that must be right if it’s to protect residents and the constituency from inappropriate development in the years to come.”
In her submission to Eastleigh Borough Council Mims said:
“Residents have been let down by this ill thought through consultation. Contained in the document are seriously dangerous options that would ruin the Borough for future generations. If this Plan goes forward with the current disregard for green spaces and quality of life of our residents then it will be against the wishes of the constituents I represent.
My constituents very much feel that the Council is utterly failing them.”
