MP for Mid Sussex Mims Davies has hailed the new 3-year Restart programme allocated £2.9 bn as part of today’s Spending Review as significant. The jobs scheme will provide intensive, tailored support to over 1 million unemployed people to help them find work through training courses and local partnerships.
Mims Davies comments:
I am incredibly excited about the Restart programme receiving £2.9 billion this week from the Treasury. This initiative is an important step in helping people who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences. I am greatly looking forward to promoting this scheme in our local area of Mid Sussex and I would encourage those who would benefit to contact your local JobCentre Plus.
The Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak said:
“Today’s Spending Review delivers the priorities of the British people. Our health emergency is not yet over, and the economic emergency has only just begun; so our immediate priority is to protect people’s lives and livelihoods.
End.
