Two funding grants streams have been set up by Police and Crime Commissioner, Katy Bourne, The Safe Space Sussex Funding Network assists the delivery of projects to support victims and witnesses of crime and the Safer in Sussex Community Fund, (SiSCF) assists local organisations that aim to reduce crime and improve community safety in Sussex.
Grants of up to £5000 can be made from the Safer in Sussex Community Fund and applications are still being accepted.
The MP for Mid Sussex, Mims Davies commented:
“The Safer in Sussex Community Fund grant is open until the 10th June 2022. There are many areas that the projects could cover, and should link to the Commissioner’s priorities in the Sussex Police and Crime Plan. This funding has benefited many local people and neighbourhoods over the last few years. If you are based in Sussex and have not received funding form this fund before and meet the funding criteria I do urge you to put in an application.”
One grant may be applied for each round and welcomes applications that directly and actively address the Crime & Community Safety priority, focuses on activity, rather than equipment/capital expenditure, belongs to a local, not-for-profit community organisation, where possible, receive match-funding from other sources, so that the initiative is not solely dependent on the Community Fund, and that work in partnership with others, specifically local Community Safety Partnerships, Police Force and Voluntary Action groups.
