Mims Davies MP was pleased to be able to join James and Kirstie, owners of Balneath Farm, South Chailey.
Their family lives and works in our constituency of East Grinstead, Uckfield, and the villages as farmers and it's no secret the struggles there are a significant amount of current news stories covering the agricultural industry.
Instead, we are reaching out to discuss the current success of our own agricultural business.
Balneath Farm is an incredible, successful agricultural enterprise spanning 3,000 acres mostly based in EGU.
They have approximately 2,000 sheep, 800 cows and 500 acres of crops as well, as well as large areas of land committed to biodiversity and conservation.
As a family, and a business, they have their sights firmly set on the future and their passion is farming, and in order to continue, profit is of course key for them as they strive to improve their productive capacity and efficiency over the same acreage.
They have recently committed to constructing a brand new calf rearing facility, with the most up to date technology, facilities and animal welfare standards.

What a way to start the weekend in Chailey at Balneath Farm.
A big thank you to James and Kirstie for meeting me today on their beautiful family farm - I even had the chance to feed their lovely cows!
They have roughly 2000 sheep, 800 cows, 500 acres of crop and a large area of land committed to biodiversity and conservation.
I am a huge supporter of our local farmers who work so hard 24/7 365 to keep food on our plates. As we know, family farmers really need our support now more than ever and we need to remind the government of this.
This fantastic weather we’re having was also a bonus.
Looking forward to the weekend and meeting even more business owners and residents - I hope everyone has a great weekend too!
