Mims Davies MP celebrates STEM Day racing Drones in Ardingly at the South of England Showground
STEM, standing for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, is a way of bringing together all these individual subjects and creating something spectacular, which is certainly what the students did today.
This day was an inspiring and memorable experience for students and judges alike, celebrating the incredible hard work and creativity from youngsters.
The event featured a thrilling demonstration of a real-life drone, courtesy of Sussex Police who explained the device’s many life-saving benefits.
Students created incredible drones that could deliver a payload while completing circuits around the beautiful South of England Showground with eagle eyed judges taking notes of all students' work.

It was an absolute pleasure to join students in Ardingly today at the stunning South of England Showground for Mid Sussex STEM Day, organised by Ruth de Mierre.
There were teams of youngsters from schools all over the District who came together and showed us adults that the future really is bright with their Drone Projects.
It's been 1 whole year since I was elected MP for the new East Grinstead, Uckfield, and the villages seat and it has flown by! I've enjoyed every minute of it and I want to thank all the residents, businesses, farmers, charities, community organisations, and more who have spoken with me and joined me at my 'Meet Mims' events. We have the best constituency!
I hope everyone has a great weekend - I know I'm looking forward to joining events in West Hoathly, East Grinstead, and Barcombe.
