Eastleigh MP Mims Davies will be hosting a fund raising event on Friday 19th October at the Botley Centre in Botley for Breast Cancer Haven based in Titchfield, who serve the whole Wessex region. Following in the footsteps of Liz Hurley and Hugh Bonneville, Mims visited the Haven in preparation for the charity event.
On visiting the centre Mims commented,
“It’s my absolute pleasure to host the ‘Cake and Cuppa’ morning at the Botley Centre in support of the fantastic work Breast Cancer Haven does. I would love to see and chat to as many people as possible at the event and help raise funds for this worthy charity.
“Earlier this year, I was delighted to meet Sally and members of the team at the Haven in Titchfield. I was amazed at the wealth of support offered emotionally, physically and practically by every member of staff who are all such compassionate and caring people.
“The centre is a fantastic sanctuary of peace and tranquillity; it’s literally a haven of warmth and comfort and I would encourage anyone receiving cancer treatment in Eastleigh and Southampton to visit this welcoming place.”
Breast Cancer Haven’s fundraising Manager Sally Hillyear commented,
“We were so proud to show Mims around Breast Cancer Haven and show her the difference that we are making to people who have been affected by the disease in our area. We are looking forward to ‘cake and a cuppa’ and are so thankful that she is helping us raise much needed funds and awareness”
The centre offers support from counsellors, nurses, therapists and other health professionals who provide such wonderful and tailored free services for women and men throughout their treatment for breast cancer.
