Mims Davies MP hosts Copthorne Residents at Worth School for 10th Meet Mims of the Year
Mims was thrilled to host her 10th 'Meet Mims' Q&A event of the year, this time in Copthorne.
Since becoming MP for the new East Grinstead, Uckfield and the villages seat, Mims has worked around the clock on the priorities of her constituents criss-crossing the area from Wivelsfield, Newick and Chailey, across to Uckfield, Buxted and Maresfield, and up to Copthorne, Pease Pottage and Turners Hill.
Since becoming the MP for Copthorne, Mims has become extremely aware of the situation happening at the Copthorne Hotel and posted a statement on the subject after visiting the hotel with the Home Office after requesting a visit for over a year.
Naturally, the subject of asylum seekers, illegal immigration, and the Copthorne Hotel took up the most amount of time with an interactive conversation between Mims and residents.
The end of the meeting found the group discussing the M23 underpass, infrastructure, roads, Heathy Wood battling development and more.
On behalf of her constituents, Mims directly raised issues and questions ranging from public safety, especially of women and girls to illegal working, financial costs to the local authority, housing, schools, access to health services and extra social and sporting activities.

Whether in Parliament, or locally in the constituency, Mims' focus is always on ensuring she is visible and approachable by listening to your views and concerns.
Mims Davies MP said:
A huge thank you to the over 100 Copthorne residents who joined me on Thursday braving the awful weather.
A huge thank you to Worth School also for hosting us - we were originally booked in somewhere in the Copthorne Village, but after countless requests from Copthorne residents to book a larger event to accommodate more residents who wished to join, Worth School jumped to the rescue and we used their stunning theatre.
Emotions were, as expected, running high regarding what is happening at Copthorne Hotel and I was joined by Cllr Gary Marsh and Cllr Liz Williams who joined me to answer resident's questions on the topic. I will be raising a number of the questions asked directly with the Home Office team as requested.
I will also be organising even more 'Meet Mims' events in the new year, as well as more casual pub meets, on top of the usual surgery appointments of which I have over 10 a week, and the tours in Parliament, PMQs, and more youth oriented events.
It's going to be another busy year of events, so it you're not sick of me yet, I can't wait to meet even more of you as well as seeing familiar faces!
