Mims Davies MP joins East Grinstead and Uckfield residents for Remembrance Services
Remembrance Sunday is always observed on the second Sunday of November to honour the sacrifices of British and Commonwealth servicemen and women in conflicts, particularly during the World Wars.
There were a myriad of wonderful services taking place all over Mims' constituency of East Grinstead, Uckfield, and the villages.
Mims was honoured to join residents, Councillors, Mayors, councils, veterans and more this weekend to come together and remember those who made, and continue to make, the ultimate sacrifice for our safety.
Mims Davies MP said:
It was a huge privilege and honour to join Remembrance services in East Grinstead, Uckfield, and Highbrooks in the High Weald.
It’s been a wonderful day of community spirit in Sussex in the sunshine - thank you to those who represented me in Wivelsfield and Maresfield too.
Last night, I joined the community quiz night too in Maresfield which was great fun and a chance to meet constituents in a casual, fun setting paying our respects to the service personnel who joined us.
It was poignant to see so many young people paying their respects too, particularly our uniformed youth who joined in across all the areas.
A big thank you to the leaders and volunteers and the clergies and local churches who conducted wonderful services with fantastic choirs and musicians.
To our serving personnel and veterans and their families - we are all deeply grateful for your service and sacrifices on behalf of us all.
