Mims Davies MP joins High Weald Steam Working weekend with Cllr Michael Lunn and Residents
The fantastic High Weald Steam Working Weekend took place during the weekend, from 10am - 5pm at Freshfield Mill Farm, Sloop Lane, Scaynes Hill, RH17 7NP and welcomed hundreds of residents from the local area, including Mims Davies MP.
The weekend is situated in the High Weald of Sussex and organised by a brilliant group of enthusiasts who like to see these magnificent machines being worked properly as they would have been many years ago.
Mims was thrilled to see the working displays including Threshing, Heavy Haulage, Road Making and Wood Sawing - residents will be hard pushed to find another similar event in the area and in 2024, this event was featured in various publications including Old Glory and Vintage Spirit magazines.

I was so pleased to support this brilliant show and also see Bluebell Railway running alongside 60 steam engines showing off their impressive engines.
Community events like this are so important as they bring people together and help us to build relationships, trust, and a sense of belonging whilst getting outside for fresh air, improving our mental health, and exploring our wonderful area.
We were also very lucky with the weather too - so it would’ve been rude not to have a Pimms!
A big thank you to the High Weald Steam Working Weekend committee, volunteers, and everyone for all their hard work to make this such a successful and fantastic weekend bringing the community together!
