Mims Davies MP joins Home Office Minister, Nus Ghani MP and Crowborough Shield on Asylum Seekers
Mims joined Nus Ghani, MP for Crowborough, for a meeting with the Home Office Minister, Alex Norris, regarding the Government’s proposals to house asylum seekers at Crowborough Training Camp.
Mims also raised concerns from residents of Copthorne regarding Copthorne Hotel and was joined by Crowborough residents Kim Bailey, from Crowborough Shield, and Jeanette Towey, who helped represent the communities' concerns and raise objections directly to the Minister himself.

I was pleased to join Nus Ghani MP for her meeting with the Home Office Minister, Alex Norris.
We were joined by Kim from Crowborough Shield and Jeannette who both made it clear, residents are not confident in the decision or the lack of leadership at Wealden District Council.
Some new information which came from the meeting is the Home Office confirming they have indeed not properly assessed impacts on the Army Cadets, locally or nationally.
Safety is a huge concern to residents and we need to know that they can, and will, feel safe. During my Copthorne ‘Meet Mims’ event, I was also asked to contact the Home Office re curfews, not being allowed to buy alcohol with their cards, and the illegal working taking place - I will update soon.
