Mims Davies MP joins ITV speaking on Weir Wood Reservoir and Water Outages in East Grinstead and Uckfield
Mims was pleased to join ITV highlighting the issues in her constituency regarding water outages.
Mims has been actively addressing water outages here in EGU, highlighting the lack of infrastructure and the insufficient planning for emergencies.
She has intervened in the House of Commons to raise concerns about the responsibility of South East Water and the need for better investment in water infrastructure.
Following recent outages, Mims also launched a Parliamentary Petition to advocate for improved services and accountability from the water companies and help support businesses who lost so much during these outages.
Additionally, Mims has been involved in and organised urgent meetings with South East Water and the new leadership team at SEWater to discuss the impact of weather-related issues, such as leaks and storms, on water usage.
Mims Davies MP said:
I was pleased to join ITV raising the concerns even more on water outages in our constituency.
Reservoirs are full, and yet our taps are running dry - we need to know what is going on here, why this is happening, and how we can prevent this from happening in the future ensuring residents, businesses, hospitals, charities, farmers, livestock owners, and more aren't struggling without water.
I can assure you that I will continue pressing both the water companies and the Government to deliver the improvements our communities sorely need.
