Mims Davies MP joins Newick residents for Armistice Day
Mims was honoured to join residents of Newick for Armistice Day to lay a wreath at their moving service.
The Armistice, an agreement to end the fighting of the First World War as a prelude to peace negotiations, began at 11am on 11 November 1918.
At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month – we will remember them.
Mims Davies MP said:
‘When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say, For Your Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today.’
On Armistice Day we remembered the service and sacrifice of all those who lost their lives during war and all those affected.
Thank you to the village of #Newick for a poignant service and fitting tribute to our fallen heroes. Led by Rev’d Paul Mundy, the Rector of St Mary's Newick and Priest-in-Charge St Peter's Chailey.
An honour to join my constituents today and over the weekend at lovely services - including the wonderful Baroness Cumberlege.
We Will Remember Them.
Thank you to all at Royal British Legion for all you do.
