Mims Davies MP joins opening of Uckfield Banking Hub and discusses local Rail Services
Our local rail services need improving and this is something Mims has been working on both locally and in Parliament on behalf of residents of East Grinstead, Uckfield, and the villages.
Mims has been raising concerns about train services and the importance of reliable rail connections for local communities. Mims has been working to ensure passengers’ experiences and concerns are heard, with better services, improved reliability, and more convenient journeys remaining important issues for people who depend on the railway.
By continuing to highlight the challenges faced by commuters and families, Mims can help keep the need for better train services on the agenda. Improvements to punctuality, service frequency, affordability and accessibility would make a real difference to people’s everyday lives.
Mims Davies MP said:
It was a real pleasure to join the official opening of the new Banking Hub in Uckfield - a fantastic example of what can be achieved when we work together to deliver an important service for our community.
But while it was a day to celebrate, it also highlighted the stark contrast with the experience many local residents are having with our rail services.
Cancellations, disruptions, and unreliable services on the Uckfield line are simply not good enough. We need to be able to get to work, appointments, school, and home with confidence — not constantly wondering whether our train will turn up or not.
I’m still in the process of securing a meeting with Lord Hendy, Minister for Rail, because we need to see real action and commitment to improving our line. I will be sharing your views and experiences with him from my online survey found here - https://www.mimsdavies.org.uk/nationalisation-rail-survey
Your experiences matter, and I will continue to make sure they are heard.
