Mims Davies MP joins Reception on Employment and Economic Value of Outbound Travel to the UK
On behalf of ABTA, Mims was pleased to join the reception in Parliament on the economic value of outbound tourism to the UK and Mims' constituency of East Grinstead, Uckfield, and the villages.
This event offered an opportunity for Mims to engage directly with experts from across the Aviation and Travel sector.
Discussions focussed on the sector’s employment and economic contribution, with regional-specific data available including insights into direct and indirect employment, economic impact, and Gross Value Added (GVA).
As we lead up to peak travel season, this event came at an important time for Mims to speak regarding constituents views in EGU as they decide where and how they wish to fly this summer.

With Gatwick on our doorsteps, outbound travel plays a vital role in supporting jobs, strengthening business connections, fostering cultural exchange, and contributing significantly to the UK's economy.
It was useful to engage with industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing this important sector and to explore ways to further enhance its contribution to economic growth and employment.
As we approach the Summer holidays and constituents of EGU are deciding whether to go abroad or not, it was useful to speak to the Industry on this topic.
