Mims Davies MP joins Women in Community Pharmacy Event

Mims joined pharmacy professionals, healthcare leaders, and advocates at a Women in Community Pharmacy event in Parliament to celebrate the vital role community pharmacies play in supporting women's health and tackling health inequalities.

Community pharmacies are one of the most accessible front doors to our health service.

Whether someone is seeking advice on contraception, support through menopause, or help managing a long-term condition, pharmacies are there for people in every community, regardless of age or background.

Much of the work carried out by pharmacy teams happens quietly, but they are building healthier communities in EGU and the UK every day in a deeply humane way - offering trusted advice, reassurance, and care close to home.

Mims Davies MP said:

As the Shadow Minister for Women, I was pleased to join the Women in Community Pharmacy Event in Parliament.

Around 1.6 million conversations take place in pharmacies every day across England. These interactions provide crucial support for women throughout their lives, including access to contraception, menopause advice, vaccinations and preventative healthcare services.

Community pharmacies have also demonstrated their ability to deliver innovative public health programmes, including the HPV catch-up vaccination programme, helping to ensure more residents can access preventative healthcare. This is what a fair and equitable health service looks like.

Community pharmacies here in EGU and beyond continue to play a critical role in delivering accessible healthcare services, supporting prevention, early intervention, and better health outcomes in communities across the country.

I will continue to fight for them and support them as much as I can. Thank you for all you do for us.
