Mims Davies MP in Monmouth, Wales, with Cllrs and Businesses following Floods from Storm Claudia
As the Shadow Minister for Wales, Mims headed to Wales to meet residents, councillors, and business owners who have been hugely negatively impacted by the recent flooding due to Storm Claudia hitting them.
Nearly 12cms of rain hit the the area overnight, causing the River Monnow to rise to a record level and spill over its flood banks causing devastation to residents.
Mims joined local Councillors visiting residents who have been impacted by the floods and shown round homes which were evacuated in the middle of the night, with no notice, and the devastation and chaos that has been left behind and the damage inflicted.
Mims Davies MP said:
As the Shadow Minister for Wales, and former resident and student of Wales, it was heart-breaking visiting Monmouth recently regarding the floods.
I joined local Councillors and businesses visiting Chippenham Court and the Riverside Hotel who have been hit by the disastrous floods and Labour's disastrous budget.
Residents and businesses have lost their #homes, belongings, sentimental pictures and more that simply cannot be replaced, and their place of business enabling them to bring income in.
