Many residents have been in touch about the future of Uckfield Post Office following the announcement that the TG Jones store is set to close.
The Post Office has confirmed that the branch will close when the store shuts, with the final date expected to be confirmed shortly. While this is disappointing news for our community, I am pleased that work is already underway to secure a replacement Post Office service for Uckfield.
In the meantime, residents will still be able to access everyday banking services, including cash withdrawals, deposits and bill payments, at the Uckfield Banking Hub on the High Street. Alternative Post Office services are also available at Ridgewood and Five Ash Down.
The Post Office is now looking for a new operator to run a replacement branch in Uckfield and has already received some interest.
