Mims Davies MP said:
I voted against the Bill in the form it is in at 3rd reading.
It is not about the premise, but the Bill itself which is being sent to the Lords.
Many have felt this Bill hasn't been robust enough and I feel in it's current form, the safeguards simply weren't there.
Furthermore, many who think they have the opportunity to take their life if they're in extreme pain, and think it will cover them, will find it actually doesn't.
I believe very strongly, we should be getting hospice care, palliative care, end of life care, dealt with, before we assist people into death. I worry greatly for those who are ill and feeling a burden, when they absolutely aren't.
Whilst in the Lords, I hope the Bill is going to be strengthened and the safeguards and everything I mentioned in my videos is covered.
