Mims Davies MP speaks with Cats Protection in Parliament
Cats Protection is the UK’s leading cat welfare charity. Its aim is to make life better for cats and the people who care for them. The organisation has been speaking up for cats for almost 100 years.
Mims joined the Cats Protection team to hear about the important work the charity carries out in East Grinstead, Uckfield, the villages and the UK.
At the forefront of research on cat welfare they use their decades of experience to help all cats and support owners to keep their pets happy and healthy.
In every corner of the country their passionate volunteers, employees, and supporters are using their kindness and expertise to make life better for millions of cats and the people who care for them.

It was a pleasure to join the Cats Protection team in Parliament on their views, worries, and obstacles they regularly face.
In nearly 100 years, they have rehomed over two million cats and kittens and championed the rights of cats across the UK.
In 2025 the team spoke to over 10,000 people, from lifelong cat lovers to potential owners. The result was up-to-date cat statistics on all things feline, from cat behaviour to ownership with the increased cost of living.
But there is still to much to be done as they continue to campaign and make life better for cats - and we discussed how I as an MP can help them including supporting animal welfare legislation, promote responsible pet ownership, advocate for our local services, represent constituents' concerns and so much more.
