Mims Davies MP speaks on Endometriosis during Westminster Hall Debate
Endometriosis can be extremely painful and is where cells similar to those in the lining of the womb (uterus) grow in other parts of the body. It can have a huge impact on women's quality of life and their ability to carry out day to day activities.
Mims raised the experience of Eleanor in East Grinstead, who is just one of the women who is struggling with dismissal and delays.
Mims Davies MP said:
As the Member of Parliament for East Grinstead, Uckfield, and the villages, and the Shadow Minister for Women I was honoured to speak in the Westminster Hall debate on endometriosis.
This condition affects millions of women, like Eleanor in East Grinstead who I spoke with, yet it is still too often misunderstood, dismissed, and underdiagnosed leading to A&E trips.
This is not good enough.
Women deserve to be listened to, believed, and treated with urgency and respect. Delays in diagnosis are not just frustrating for women in agony, but are harmful and impact their quality of life, whilst also putting unnecessary pressure on emergency services.
