Mims Davies MP supports brewers and pubs across East Grinstead, Uckfield, and the villages
On Wednesday 5th November, Mims was pleased to meet with representatives from the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) to discuss the real issues facing the licensed trade in her constituency of EGU and across the UK.
Mims is a staunch supporter of our local pubs as they bring the community together, help our local economy and offer local residents jobs - to name a few.
Gary Timmins, CAMRA Pub and Club Campaigns Director, and Tom Stainer, CAMRA Chief Executive, were delighted to meet with Mims to hear about the amazing local pubs and beers in EGU.
Mims and the team also talked through the challenges the trade is facing ahead of the Budget, including business rates, VAT, Employer National Insurance contributions and beer taxes.
Mims was thrilled to be in Ashurst Wood's Maypole pub as part of the 'Save Our Local Campaign', joined by local Cllr John Belsey and landlady Sarah, as well as many of the villagers who back this brilliant, local village pub:

Meeting with the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA ) team in Parliament was useful listening to the real issues our brewers and pubs face in East Grinstead, Uckfield, and the villages.
If you know me, you know I love supporting our local pubs and I have been touring them since being elected as MP for EGU meeting landlords and regulars from Chailey and Wivelsfield, to Uckfield and Nutley, to East Grinstead and Ashurst Wood.
Thank you to the team for taking the time to speak with me.

I was over the moon to meet Mims Davies MP to talk about our amazing pubs and breweries, and what CAMRA members want to see in the Budget.
It’s really important that we have champions like Mims across Parliament, talking about the issues facing the licensed trade, and making sure everyone knows that pubs are the beating heart of communities in East Grinstead, Uckfield, the villages, and across the UK.
