Mims Davies MP tours Wakehurst Place where Cate Blanchett is the Ambassador
Wakehurst Place is beautifully nestled in Mims' constituency of East Grinstead, Uckfield, and the villages.
A stunning wild botanic garden, managed by Kew and home to the Millennium Seed Bank where Cate Blanchett is their key Ambassador.
Mims was also honoured to tour the Coronation Meadow which was created in 2015 as a response to The Prince of Wales’ call for new wildflower meadows to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Coronation.
Coronation Meadow is part of a long-term research project with the University of Sussex to measure and evaluate grassland restoration. The techniques being used will inform how future meadows are restored. The wildflower seed used was collected from Bedelands Nature Reserve in Burgess Hill.
You can find the gardens at Ardingly, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, RH17 6TN with more information here:

Mims was also pleased to see the Millennium Seed Bank - as we celebrate 25 years of seed banking, I was given the opportunity to learn how they use their collections to combat biodiversity loss and climate change through scientific research while restoring habitats with their global partners.
