Mims Davies MP visits Rowfant area following devastating fire
140 cars destroyed in huge fire at parking site used by Gatwick Airport holidaymakers.
Emergency services were called to Caldyne Business Park in Rowfant after reports of the huge fire.
Firefighters battled the inferno overnight, which destroyed around 140 vehicles and caused power cuts to more than 2,000 homes when electricity had to be shut off after flames damaged high voltage equipment in the area.

Yesterday I spoke to shocked local businesses, residents, and distraught car owners about the awful fire over the weekend in the Rowfant area and its impact on my constituents and holidaymakers.
I am extremely grateful for all of the immensely brave efforts of our tremendous local fire services from across Sussex in containing the fire and limiting the impact.
I thank local Councillors for their updates and insights. I am so grateful that the fire was held back from any more significant local impact and mercifully no one was injured.
There is a live police investigation and the fire services have concluded their on site work.
