Over the past year Mims Davies MP has met with Football Clubs around Mid Sussex to understand their funding needs and requirements to continue to deliver a first class football experience to both boys and girls in Mid Sussex and the Football Foundation to pass on her findings. She recently attended the House of Commons event hosted by the Football Foundation to discuss their updated plans for Mid Sussex.
Member of Parliament for Mid Sussex, Mims Davies commented:
“Football is great way to meet people and to get and keep fit, I am delighted that the Football Foundations Plans include Walking Football, Grow Female football, Grow Youth Futsal and Introduce FA Mars Just Play, with much needed funding for improvements to pitches and changing facilities across Mid Sussex. We have some fantastic football clubs in Mid Sussex and I look forward to visiting our clubs and seeing these projects implemented.”
Football is a fantastic way to keep fit, make friends and have fun. With numerous football clubs across Mid Sussex, some fielding multiple teams, it is vital that they have the pitches and amenities to support their players. It is great news that the Football Foundation has looked at the clubs local assets and opportunities and they have been reviewed in line with their four investment priorities:, 3G FTPs, Improved grass pitches, Changing room pavilions / clubhouses, Small-sided facilities and the areas in Mid Sussex that will benefit from this funding will include: Whitemans Green, Hickmans Lane, Imberhorne Lane Recreation Ground, Lindfield common, Imberhorne Upper School East Grinstead sports Club.
