Wow! What an amazing 1st day I've had at the South of England Show, which is always such a special occasion.
The raging hay fever aside - I've had a fabulous time chatting to farmers and listening to people who produce food, look after our land, and are integral to the rural economy.
We've been extremely lucky with the weather and it's been amazing to see the dogs, horses, vets, and the people who have worked so hard to make this show exactly how you'd expect.
Thank you to Neil Hudson MP from the Shadow DEFRA team, and a vet by nature, for joining me as well as many other MPs from all parties and places including from Hampshire, Kent, Sussex and more. I know we've had a brilliant day and can't wait for the weekend.
