Mims visited the 7th Eastleigh Scout Headquarters in Short’s Road, Fair Oak to support their “Match My Money Appeal”.
The Eastleigh District has 7 Scout Groups, each has a least one Beaver colony, Cub Park and Scout Troop and has committed to raising £1,000 to support the Children’s Accident and Emergency Unit at Southampton General Hospital. These groups come from Allbrook, Eastleigh, Bishopstoke and Fair Oak and are made up of nearly 600 young people and over 150 leaders.
Mims said, “I am very proud to be supporting this local appeal and wish all the scouts a great success with their projects to raise the £1,000 target.
“It is great to see so many youngsters involved in fundraising for such a community spirited cause, and I urge local people to support their efforts.”
As part of a UK focused initiative, half a million young Scouts across the UK have committed to removing social barriers, connecting communities and improving lives (www.amillionhands.org.uk).
