Mims Davies, MP for Eastleigh, has today welcomed the Budget delivered by the Chancellor in the House of Commons.
Mims said,
“I am really pleased to see the personal allowance increasing again for the seventh year in a row meaning a typical basic rate taxpayer will pay £1000 less income tax than in 2010 while we have also seen a further increase in the National Living Wage – this is good news for hard working people.”
Alongside the tax measures additional investment of £2billion will be put into social care ensuring that our social care system can look after those who most need it.
Mims said,
“The Government is doubling free childcare for working parents with three or four year olds ensuring that a young family can be supported as they raise their family. We are looking at women returners and how to support them and I am personally delighted as the Co-Chair of the All Party Group on Carers that the Government is proactively working with the NHS, local authorities and the community to make sure that we invest in a long term plan for our elderly to free up hospital beds and make sure we have the dignity we all want for our loved ones”
