Eastleigh MP Mims Davies has welcomed two milestones for Botley: the start of a Neighbourhood Plan exhibition and the beginning of scoping works for the village’s bypass.
The exhibition on the 23rd and 24th of September at the Botley Centre is where early thoughts on the plan will be aired and, at a later stage, more concrete policies will be formulated and fine-tuned.
In further progress for residents, Hampshire County Council has now lodged a consultation with the borough council to thrash details on how the bypass is to proceed. The documents, called a scoping application, will now be further developed.
“This is great news for Botley and shows just how important locally devolved power can be,” said Mims.
“Real progress is being made on the bypass and I’m delighted the village is getting so far ahead with its Neighbourhood Plan – a document that puts control more into the hands of the community, particularly around development, and less into the hands of councils and government.
“I will be attending the exhibition to see the exciting early ideas and residents have my full support.”
