Eastleigh MP Mims Davies said:
“As a result of the growing number of queries that I am receiving both in my postbag as well as via Twitter and Facebook about train journeys, I have organised for the Managing Director of South Western Railway, Andy Mellors, to come down to Eastleigh and meet face to face with local people about the issues that they face on their daily commute.
“The event - which has been organised for the 19th April - will be an excellent opportunity for my constituents to share their experiences directly with the boss of South Western Railway, who took over the rail franchise last year.
“Eastleigh is a traditional railway town, and while I am pleased that locally more people are choosing to travel by train it is vital that they receive the service they deserve. This meeting will be key to helping to deliver that.
“Prior to the meeting I will also be speaking with Network Rail and I look forward to personally updating those present on what was said. I am also due to meet with the Rail Minister Jo Johnson shortly, and will feed-in the points raised at April’s Forum Meeting with him.
“While numbers for this meeting are limited, I am pleased that there are still places available and would ask anyone interested in attending to email me at mims.davies.mp@parliament.uk or to write to me.”
Those wishing to attend should email mims.davies.mp@parliament.uk or write to Mims Davies MP, Member of Parliament for Eastleigh, House of Commons, SW1A 0AA. Requests to attend will be judged on a first come, first served basis. The time and venue for the meeting will be provided to those attending ahead of the event on the 19th April.
