Last week saw a number of events National Apprenticeship Week held at Eastleigh College. A presentation was held with the college Apprenticeship Team and local employers who are thinking of joining in with this great initiative.
Mims Davies was pleased to be at the college and saw great training being given to apprentices where they are being trained as potential computer animators, air stewards, plumbers and beauty therapists amongs many others.
Mims Davies says, “It was great to hear from InTandem Systems and Prysmian on their experiences with taking on apprentices. It’s clear they help with succession planning, moral and save on the cost of recruitment. The Conservative led government has led the way on this opportunity for young people where 90% stay in employment and 71% stay with the initial employer. There are currently 8000 in various schemes across Eastleigh college."
