Mims Davies, MP for Eastleigh, has today welcomed new employment figures that show that more people are getting into work in Eastleigh. The total number of unemployment claimants as of November 2015 was 460.
135 fewer people are out of work since this time last year and 778 fewer people are out of work since 2010.
Mims said “I welcome these figures which show that employment is increasing in Eastleigh. Unemployment has fallen by 23% this year. This is an astonishing achievement and I would like to thank all our local businesses who contribute to this.
On Small Business Saturday earlier this month I was pleased to visit new start up business Service de Velo in Botley and meet owner Mark Alexander. New & small businesses are taking on more staff and helping to grow our local economy. They are truly the backbone of our economic revival.”
