Today Eastleigh MP, Mims Davies, joined the OneCommunity team to congratulate them on the organisations incredible 40 years of supporting the local voluntary and community sector.
This year, the huge effort made by volunteers within the organisation was recognised at the very top, being awarded The Queens Award for Voluntary Service – the highest accolade for voluntary groups in the UK – and attending the Queens Garden Party.
Commenting, local MP Mims Davies said:
"It was a huge honour to join the OneCommunity team today to thank them for their incredible contribution to the Eastleigh community over the past 40 years and take time to chat to them about just how much winning The Queens Award for Voluntary Service meant to each and every one of them.
"The new exhibition at Eastleigh Museum, setting out some of OneCommunity's AMAZING achievements over the years was truly humbling, and my thanks to everyone involved in ensuring that we ALL have the opportunity to learn about this fantastic organisations history!"
