Today is Polling Day and I am looking forward to hearing the results of the election in the early hours of tomorrow morning.
Throughout the campaign I have tried to reach as much of Mid Sussex as possible speaking to local people on doorsteps, engaging with local businesses, listening to young people, hearing from sports clubs and meeting campaigners to hear about what matters most to them. I have also engaged with many local councillors resulting in some successes, for example the restoration of gritting to many roads across Mid Sussex is a testament to all their hard work.
In between being out and about I have replied to over 600 separate email enquiries over the course of this campaign and have worked hard to get back to everyone who has approached me on a wide range of local, national and international matters.
This election is incredibly important to everyone in Mid Sussex and across the country. I firmly believe we need to Get Brexit Done and move on to our domestic priorities. Only by securing a Conservative Majority Government can we be sure this will happen.
Most importantly, all candidates standing in this election are humans, standing up for what they believe in and doing it for the right reasons. Our democracy is one of our most precious assets as a nation and I am thankful to all staff at polling stations across the UK who work so hard to make our elections run smoothly.
Those pictured neither endorse nor oppose Mims' candidacy and are purely for illustrative purposes.
