The Member of Parliament for Eastleigh, Mims Davies, has joined with the team behind World Book Day to highlight the benefits of parents and carers reinvigorating a love of sharing stories to promote wellbeing for everyone.
Commenting Eastleigh MP and Youth Minister, Mims Davies said:
“World Book Day is a fantastic opportunity to encourage parents and carers everywhere to read and share stories! Just 10 minutes of reading a day can have long-lasting positive effects on a child’s future, and I absolutely encourage all of my constituents to take part.
“Just this week I learnt that our area’s very own Luke Bird, a year nine student from Crestwood Community School, will have his illustrations included within Caroline Meech’s book ‘You can’t Be Friends with a Troll Dotti’– which is itself a great example of how books can bring people together and support others.”
“World Book Day is all about the power stories can have in changing the world, and how we should #shareastory with friends and family, and this book, the cause that it’s raising money for, and the message it spreads, is a fantastic example of that.”
