Eastleigh MP Mims Davies is asking local people to vote for the Royal Victoria Country Park in a nationwide poll to find one of the UK’s best open spaces.
The 200-acre park has been nominated in the UK’s Best Parks award organised by Fields in Trust with public voting taking place until the 25th November.
The three parks with the highest number of votes will be shortlisted, before the winner is announced at the Fields in Trust Awards Ceremony at Lord's Cricket Ground in London on 2nd December.
“This diverse park is much loved by local people and by many others from further afield, so I do hope that everyone will support it and cast their vote. Getting more active, having some fresh air and enjoying the open spaces we have really helps us all feel good and I'm delighted this lovely park is being recognised for its wonderful qualities.” said Mims.
“It would be brilliant for it to be highlighted with an important national award and so I have already cast my vote! I want our open land valued, supported and well used. This award reminds us about the value of all our green spaces and the importance for it to be open, available and cherished for all the community to continue to enjoy. ”
