Following an important West Sussex County Council (WSCC) announcement today, 28th October, about the new-build project for Woodlands Meed College in Burgess Hill, I am pleased to see they have earmarked an additional £1.6million to support the needs of the college and it’s pupils, to the existing May 2020 approved £20million budget, to ensure progress to the next stages of the scheme.
Following ongoing discussions with the college, I have been informed WSCC have written to college Governors to finalise the Development Agreement which requires approval by 4th November to allow work to commence in December 21 to meet the completion target of Spring 23.
WSCC assure me they remain committed to delivering this project to ensure the Woodland Meed’s 100 pupils and their parents have the facilities that are right for them as soon as possible.
Meanwhile parents/carers of children at Woodlands Meed can register their interest in joining an online public meeting hosted by WSCC on Tuesday, 2nd November between 7-8pm by emailing: woodlandsmeedconsultation@westsussex.gov.uk
