Mims Davies welcomed a visit from the Conservative Party Chairman Grant Shapps where he joined the team door knocking and canvassing in Hedge End.

Right to Buy in Eastleigh

6,480 families in Eastleigh will have the right to buy their housing association home thanks to the ConservativesMims Davies has welcomed a new manifesto commitment by the Conservatives to extend the Right to Buy to the tenants of housing association properties.

Conservatives will take the family home out of inheritance tax in Eastleigh.Mims Davies has welcomed the news today that a future Conservative Government would take the family home out of inheritance tax.

Home Secretary Visits

Mims Davies and the Eastleigh Conservatives where delighted to welcome Theresa May the Home Secretary to Hedge End on Wednesday 1st April 2015.Mrs May visited spoke local Police and heard about postive action on local ASB, preventative Community action and partnership work.   

Church Funding welcomed

Mims Davies has welcomed today’s announcement of £32,300 funding for repairs to St James’ Church in West end.

Business & Energy Minister visits

UK based Lightsource Renewable Energy, one of Europe’s leading solar energy companies, welcomed the Minister of State for Energy, Matthew Hancock MP, for a guided tour of Chalcroft Solar Farm, in Southampton. Joined by prospective Parliamentary candidate Mims Davies and a team from Lightsource, the Minister was able to experience the benefits of a successful solar farm project.

National Apprenticeship Week

Last week saw a number of events National Apprenticeship Week held at Eastleigh College. A presentation was held with the college Apprenticeship Team and local employers who are thinking of joining in with this great initiative.

Rail Minister at Arlington

I was delighted to speak with the Rail Minister, Claire Perry MP during a visit to the Arlington Fleet Group Ltd in Eastleigh. The Rail Minister expressed her support as local MP’s such as Penny Mordaunt, Steve Brine and myself have raised the funding and upgrades needed for the improvements required for trains in the South heading into Waterloo.
