It has been a few weeks since I last provided an update on the Burgess Hill Place and Connectivity Programme pedestrian and cycle improvements being delivered in Burgess Hill. I have received the following update from Nick Burrell, as the Strategic Manager – Growth, OPE & Partnerships at WSCC:
Wivelsfield Station works
I am pleased to say the works at Wivelsfield Station are now complete and the temporary traffic signals have been removed.
Works at Civic Way Roundabout
These commenced on 26th June. This stage of works will include footway widening, pedestrian refuge island improvements and the upgrade and relocation of the pedestrian crossing in Station Road near Waitrose. The final stage of works in this area also includes resurfacing and drain/gully jetting where required along Station Road, Keymer Road Roundabout and Civic Way Roundabout.
This video shows how the Civic Way Roundabout scheme will look once it is completed, along with representation of how all road users and pedestrians will navigate the new road layouts, the scheme will still be subject to a final safety audit so could be subject to minor change (the video is also available on YouTube link https://youtu.be/dVLsVLPlebE).
Our latest press release informing of the commencement of Civic Way Roundabout Improvements can be found here: Phase 1 of the Burgess Hill Place and Connectivity Programme nearing completion - West Sussex County Council.
