The Member of Parliament for Mid Sussex, Mims Davies, has encouraged constituents to use the West Sussex County Council eLibrary to access books and other materials during lockdown.
The current situation means many people who usually go to the Library to take a book out or to listen to audiobooks are not able to do so. To address this West Sussex County Council have a wide range of resources available on their website for local people who want to read or listen.
Commenting, the Member of Parliament for Mid Sussex, Mims Davies said:
“Lots of people cannot currently get to the library or to the book shop to buy new reading material. There are lots of great schemes at the moment which encourage people to swap books with neighbours but if you have a specific book in mind the best thing to do is to use the library.
“The eLibrary has over 6,000 ebooks available to read for free and over 3,000 digital audiobooks all available to borrow online. This is a great service and it also has newspapers, magazines, and the option to purchase books withdrawn from circulation if you’re looking for something more permanent. I hope constituents take up this great opportunity.”
Ends.
