Mims Davies was delighted to attend the start and oversea the toss of the coin at the final of the Nicholas Soames Trophy on Saturday 24th September. Originally due to be held on September 10th the event was postponed following the sad death of our late Sovereign Queen Elizabeth.
The rearranged fixture was successfully held at Haywards Heath and Beech Hurst Bowls Club. The weather was kind and was played under blue skies.
The winners were Saltdean who overcame a strong challenge from Henfield to win the Trophy for the first time. Katy Bourne OBE (Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner) kindly presented the Trophy to the winners.
Entry fees which totalled £270, were donated to 'St Peter and St James Hospice'.
